How to make 5G work for Smart Cities

By 2020 it is expected that the 5G wireless braodband technology will be in use and active for most connected applications. The potential this network has is huge and many councils are already welcoming the technology and preparing for its arrival, however, they have a number of challenges to overcome first. 

The main change councils will have to make is ensuring their approach is aligned and that infrastructure development is up to speed with the rapid growth of technology. Other factors include finance, geography and planning regulations, which have the potential to pose problems for local authorities with an eye on 5G.
